Moombaki Cultural Learnings Project awarded the 2023 Award for Excellence and Impact in Education

The Moombaki Cultural Learnings project, led by Professor Cheryl Kickett-Tucker in the Faculty of Humanities’ School of Education has been awarded the 2023 Award for Excellence and Impact in Education by the Board of the Australian Council of Deans of Education (ADCE)

The award recognises contributions of initiative, innovation, personal success, research or building positive collaborative partnerships in the education sector. The Moombaki Cultural Learnings project aims to strengthen Aboriginal children’s wellbeing and self-esteem by connecting them to their culture, identity and country. This project has generated new knowledge using an innovative, yet culturally secure transfer of knowledge from Aboriginal Elders and carers to children within a school environment.

Congratulations to Professor Kickett-Tucker and the Moombaki Cultural Learnings Research Team on their continued success!
