Unlocking Space: Insights & Inspiration

On Thursday, 26 October, Curtin hosted a student panel and networking event at the new precinct in Building 418, where our engineering students across the Faculty had the opportunity to quiz fascinating guest speakers Dave KorsmeyerRoger HunterButler Hine and Dawn McIntosh, who were very generous with their time to talk about all things space!

The event was attended by US Consulate General, Siriana Nair and hosted by Curtin’s Renae Sayers from the Space Science and Technology Centre. We received insights into NASA’s small satellite program and new innovations in DiskSats, NASA’s approach to satellite swarming for space systems and explorations, their mission methodologies and international focus as well as Fugro Spaarc’s support infrastructure in WA and how WA will play a large role in the future of space exploration.

Thank you to the Science and Engineering Student Engagement team and the Defence and Space Research Office team for pulling together a wonderful event!
