Where does the data come from that populates the organisational charts?

What are the different chart views?

There are three views:

Employee Chart View – The basic view and all employees have access to this view.
People Management View – All leaders across Curtin with line management responsibilities and selected People and Culture roles have access to this view. This view provides additional information to assist with people management.
Finance View – Selected Finance roles have access to this view. This view provides additional information to assist with managing financial delegations, finance system access requests and corporate credit card approvals.

How does OrgManager know what views I should have access to?

How often is the OrgManager data refreshed?

Who should I contact if I notice inaccurate information within the chart?

Are my personal details secure?

Yes. Your privacy is taken seriously and access to your confidential information conforms to Curtin’s data security protocols. The information displayed in the Finance and People Management views that line managers, Finance and People and Culture currently have access to and is necessary to manage work responsibilities.

Information provided on the organisational charts is only available via Curtin’s Single Sign On’ secure Staff Portal site accessible by employees.

I only want to see specific roles (i.e. casual academic), how do I do this?

You can hide the unwanted roles in the Org Chart by using the Rules tool from the options bar on top of the page. The Rules option has the following options:

Hide Employee Details
Hide Professional Positions
Hide Academic Positions
Hide Casual Positions
Hide Contractor Positions
Show Contact Details

You can tick two things at the same time but please be mindful that they might counter each other. For further guide, you can view the Employee Chart View support article (also referred to as user guide) here.

I have line manager responsibility, what do I need to know?

The people management view is provided to users with line manager responsibility. This view allows the user to see their team’s structure and the details of team members such as their position number, their other position details if they occupy more than 1 position, the fraction they occupy the position and so on.

While you already have access to this information via Employee Kiosk, HR reporting and BI Dashboards it’s another application that displays this data. This view is automatically assigned to the user based on Ascender data, so you do not need to do anything to get access.

How do I utilise the contact detail function?

The contact detail function can be found under the Rules option.

First tick the Show Contact Details under the Rules option. You will see the Outlook inbox logo and Teams logo afterward under each employee in the Org Chart. The Outlook button will allow you to create a new draft towards the employee directly while the Teams button would allow you to chat the person directly on Teams.
