Peer review of educational practice (PREP)
Peer review of educational practice (PREP) focuses on assisting staff in examining any aspect of their practice that has a bearing on their teaching, learning and assessment. The process involves a more experienced member of staff working with you in a collegial, non-threatening way to help you better understand your practices.
PREP aims to promote teaching excellence, enhance and assure teaching quality, and align teaching practice with strategic imperatives of accreditation and regulatory bodies.
PREP has been slightly revised in order to adapt it with the Academic Capability Framework.
All PREP Reviewers need to be re-certified every three years from 2020. If you were certified prior to 2020 and did not attend training last year, then you will need to attend a PREP Reviewer Training this year. To do this you need to self-enrol on PREP Blackboard Organisation and attend a Blackboard Collaborate session for PREP Reviewer Training.
There are two types of PREP: formative peer review and summative peer review.
