Brief Summary

Professor Steve Mickler is Head of School, School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts at Curtin University. He was Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Humanities from August 2016 to February 2017 and Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor from June 2015 to August 2016. Prior to this, he was was foundational Head of the School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts from July 2008 to June 2015.  He was Head of the Department of Media and Information from July 2005 to June 2008. He is a member of the Faculty of Humanities Management Board and University Academic Board. He joined the academic staff at Curtin University in 1998, lecturing in communication studies and journalism, following a Research Fellowship with the Centre for Research in Culture and Communication at Murdoch University. From July to October 2009 he was a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Research on Work and Society at York University in Toronto, and in 2003 was a Visiting Fellow at Green College, University of British Columbia, Vancouver.
