All courses that are offered to international students studying in Australia must be compliant with the legal framework specified in the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act) and further articulated through the National Code.

Each course offered to international students must be registered under this Act. Registration is achieved through applying to the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) for CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students).

Where a registered course contains majors or streams which are not available to international students, information must be provided in the Course Entry/Completion Note against the course and majors or streams. Refer to the Study Package Text Guide [.pdf 517kB] for more details.

A course cannot be marketed to international students intending to study in Australia until it has a CRICOS registration number entered into AKARI and Student One.

Courses Management manages the application and maintenance of the codes. To lodge a CRICOS application, provide the following information along with course curriculum:

• Course duration
• Indicative fees (tuition and other/incidentals)
• Field/s of Education
• Mandatory work-based training
• Arrangements with other providers
• Evidence of Curtin University course approval

Submit the information via the Akari curriculum management system, as per other course changes.
