Open Universities Australia
Curtin offers a variety of courses and units through Open Universities Australia (OUA). If your school or department wishes to propose a new course or unit or amend existing courses or units there are strict guidelines to follow to ensure success:
Curtin’s OUA Academic Programs Coordinator presents all major changes at the Academic Programs Committee (APC) meeting.
Please direct all change requests to Curtin’s OUA Academic Programs Coordinator: B.Whelan@curtin.edu.au
Submission deadlines for ad hoc change requests that do not require DIISRTE reporting
Requests must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the close of the enrolment date of the study period the change is being requested for.
Curtin OUA imposes a deadline of an extra one week to allow the Curtin OUA Course Administration Officer to collate and process the change requests.
If the request is received before the applicable deadline, the changes will be made and published by OUA within 15-20 business days.

Proposing a new study package
The proposing area develops the new study package with assistance from various teams at Curtin. Teaching Support staff and the Courses Administration Team provide advice, support and relevant approval documentation. (Student Services can provide relevant OUA forms where required).
A business case (and Expression of Interest in the case of a Curtin-OUA offering) is submitted for approval usually prior to the course curriculum being submitted.
For further information regarding proposing a new study package please contact the Curriculum Administration Team.

When the papers are returned, they are logged before being distributed to the schools. OUA Exam Services in Melbourne have a website which provides detailed information on their examination services.
For further information regarding examinations, please visit the current students website.
