Dr Johannes Debler awarded Science Meets Parliament scholarship

Dr Johannes Debler, a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Crop and Disease Management, has been awarded a scholarship to attend Science Meets Parliament in Canberra later this month. His research focuses on fungal diseases affecting important pulse crops such as lentil and chickpea, with the goal of improving crop resilience and protecting food production.

The program brings scientists and policymakers together to explore how research can inform decisions that shape Australia’s future. Opportunities like Science Meets Parliament help researchers share their work beyond academia and build connections with policymakers.

By taking part in the program, Dr Debler hopes to strengthen the dialogue between science and policy and highlight how plant disease research can contribute to more sustainable and secure agricultural systems. Congratulations to Dr Debler on this amazing opportunity!
