Congratulations to John Curtin Distinguished Professor Zongping Shao, Professor Hongwei Wu and Associate Professor Tejas Bhatelia from the WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering, who have been awarded funding from the Australian Research Council (ARC) under the Linkage Projects 2024 round one scheme.

The Curtin-led team in collaboration with Dr Jitendra Joshi from Woodside Energy, were awarded $610,000 for the project ‘Perovskites for thermochemical energy storage and greenhouse gas conversion’.

The project aims to convert methane and carbon dioxide, two prominent greenhouse gases, into value added synthesis gas using renewable solar energy. The process aims to store thermal energy and reduce greenhouse gases, contributing to Australia’s sustainability goals. Read more about the project in the ARC report.
