2024 School of Education Awards
The School of Education hosted its annual student awards ceremony this week, acknowledging the excellence and commitment of high achieving students.
These aspiring teachers were celebrated for displaying excellence across a range of fields including Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Education, Special Education, Asian Languages, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Higher Degree by Research.
The event, held in the TL Robertson Library, included a Welcome to Country by Aunty Freda Ogilvie, a Whadjuk Ballardong Woman and retired teacher, followed by an insightful and inspiring keynote address by Professor Darren Bryant.
A reception was then held for students, staff and sponsors in the Glasshouse at the TL Robertson Library.
Special thanks to Catherine Brett, Jane Sutherland, Kate Mattes, Justine Platel and Aoife McCarthy for organising the ceremony; Dr Sally Lamping, Von Sawers, Dr Qian Gong and Professor Rachel Sheffield for working to establish new awards in 2024; the School’s Student Awards Committee; and to Eva Setiadi and the Curtin Events Team for supporting the School.
Congratulations to the students; Head of School, Professor Jeff Brooks; and all involved in guiding these students in their success.
