Adjunct Professor Tom Goerke from the School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences has been appointed as Engineers Australia National President and Board Chair, a role he took up on 1 January 2026.

A long-serving board member and respected industry leader, Adjunct Professor Goerke brings a wealth of experience spanning electronics design, systems engineering and the design, build and operation of innovation centres across Australia. He also serves as a member of the Science and Engineering Faculty Advisory Council.
