Advancing practice for accessible and universal design
The Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) recently hosted the ‘Advancing Practice in Accessible and Universal Design’ forum, supported through an Industry Engagement Grant that aims to facilitate and encourage demand-driven research by providing funding for networking events.
The forum brought together 35 industry experts, researchers and members of the community across various fields to investigate how to deliver services and products to people with disabilities more efficiently and effectively.
Organised by Dr Luke Butcher from the School of Management and Marketing the event featured two panel discussions with industry professionals from various backgrounds.
Panellists included Jessica Seage (LITEC), Lucy Ballard (Sport4All) and Professor Justin Brown (Edith Cowan University) who addressed challenges facing the industry including the gains made in ensuring equal access and how AI should be harnessed to ensure it is an amplifier of change.
