The Australian Research Council (ARC) recently awarded a total of more than $3.4 million to six Curtin projects under the Discovery Projects round one scheme.

Congratulations to the researchers of the following projects on their grant success:

  • Curtin’s Professor Axel Schmitt, Dr Luc Doucet, Professor Fred Jourdan and Dr Denis Fougerouse were awarded $289,886 for the project ‘It’s about time: critical minerals in carbonatite systems.’
  • Curtin staff Professor Raphael Viscarra Rossel and Professor Kingsley Dixon along with Dr Sarah Sapsford and Professor Johan Six were awarded $1,114,960 for the project ‘Unlocking the biodiverse recarbonising potential of Australian soils.’
  • Curtin staff Associate Professor Natasha Hurley-Walker along with Professor Nanda Rea were awarded $639,416 for the project ‘Investigating the enigmatic slowly repeating radio transients.’
  • Curtin staff Associate Professor Nadim Darwish and Associate Professor Simone Ciampi along with Associate Professor Melanie MacGregor and Professor Ismael Díez Pérez were awarded $702,936 for the project ‘Single-molecule electrostatics: low-power diodes and powerful sensors.’
  • Curtin’s Professor Dr Zongping Shao along with Professor WooChul Jung were awarded for the project ‘All-perovskite inorganic anion exchange membrane water electrolysis.’
  • Curtin staff Associate Professor Tod Jones and Associate Professor Susanna Castleden along with Dr Dedi Adhuri, Adrian Perkasa; Transpiosa Riomandha and Hairus Salim were awarded $368,285 for the project ‘The new classic Indonesian arts: its emergence and exclusion.’
