Associate Professor Hannah McGlade helps shape landmark national plan to end violence
The Department of Social Services recently launched the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Plan to End Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence 2026–2036, titled Our Ways – Strong Ways – Our Voices.
Associate Professor Hannah McGlade (Curtin Law School) played a pivotal role as a Steering Committee Member, working together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, independent commissioners and Australian, state and territory government partners to contribute to this significant strategy.
Our Ways – Strong Ways – Our Voices is the first national plan of its kind, calling on governments, communities and organisations to work together to create a safer future. It answers decades of calls from communities to stop the high rates of violence against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children.
Congratulations to Associate Professor McGlade on her impactful and meaningful contributions to this important plan. Learn more about the launch here and the full plan can be read here.
