Associate Professor Wensu Chen awarded Nishino Prize
Associate Professor Wensu Chen, an ARC Future Fellow in the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering and Director of Centre for Infrastructural Monitoring and Protection (CIMP), was awarded the esteemed Nishino Prize at the 18th East Asia-Pacific Conference on Structural Engineering & Construction (EASEC-18).
The conference was held from 13 to 15 November 2024 in Chiang Mai, Thailand and drew 350 participants from more than 20 countries.
The Nishino Prize is awarded to researchers or engineers under the age of 45 from the Asia-Pacific region, who have made a large impact and demonstrated strong potential for future advancements in structural engineering and construction.
Associate Professor Chen has made significant contributions toward innovations in sustainable construction and infrastructure protection, preventing catastrophic failures from both natural and man-made hazards, and developing resilient and sustainable engineering structures.
