Australia-Japan Network for Energy Transition and Critical Materials
Associate Professor Hussein Znad from the WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering (WASM:MECE), recently visited Japan to promote the Curtin-led ‘Australia-Japan Network for Energy Transition and Critical Materials’ project which is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Australia-Japan Foundation.
Associate Professor Znad presented a series of seminars at some of Japan’s top universities, including a collaboration with Waseda University in Tokyo where he delivered a keynote speech and was joined online by WASM:MECE’s Professor of Practice Tony Tang, Professor Zongping Shao, Associate Professor Richard Alorro and in-person by WASM:MECE PhD student Ammar Al-Sheidi.
Keynote speeches focused on fostering collaboration and addressing common challenges facing Australia and Japan in energy transition and critical materials.
During the visit, Associate Professor Znad met with senior delegates from the WA Government office in Tokyo, Waseda University, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Tohoku University, Kyushu University, Fukuoka University and Nagasaki University and engaged in discussions around different initiatives and collaborative programs between Curtin and Japanese universities.
