Congratulations to Curtin’s Binar Space Program team who recently travelled to SpaceBD in Japan to hand over three cube satellites, or “cubesats”, bound for the International Space Station (ISS). The highly advanced cubesats will travel onboard a Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency resupply mission in August which will take essentials items to the astronauts and cosmonauts onboard the ISS.

Curtin’s Binar-234 mission is the next step in Western Australia’s space journey, after launching the state’s first spacecraft, the BINAR-1 CubeSat, in 2021.

Congratulations to John Curtin Distinguished Professor Phil Bland, Dr Fergus Downey and the team on their success.

Six people wearing white lab coars and white chefs hats stand in a lab behind a table. On the table are three black cube satellites and a rectangular casing that they will sit in. Three people are holding up certificates for each of the cubes.
