Carrie Janerka from the School of Nursing has been named the Australasian Emergency Nurse of the Year 2025 by the College of Emergency Nursing Australasia at the 22nd International Conference for Emergency Nurses (ICEN 2025) in Adelaide.

Carrie was recognised for her dedication, vision and lifelong contributions to emergency nursing as a clinician, educator, leader and researcher, shaping the next generation of nurses and inspiring excellence and compassion in every setting.
