Celebrating Curtin’s Health and Safety Representatives
The 2025 Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) Thank You event was recently held to celebrate the outstanding commitment and achievements of Curtin’s 184 HSR who contribute to the safety culture across the campus.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne, Chief Operating Officer David Menarry and Director of Health and Safety Melinda Simpson attended to thank the reps for their continued support and collaboration across all areas of the University.
The award for Health and Safety Representative of the Year went to James Dudding from the John Curtin Gallery for their psychosocial and operation safety leadership, and the key role James played in coordinating safety controls during recent structural remediation works.
The HSR Service Award went to Chris Wright, who was a HSR for more than 15 years and only recently stepped down from the role. Throughout this time, they were consistently at the forefront of health and safety initiatives, investigations and actions.
Thank you once again to all our HSRs and anyone involved in the event, and congratulations to James and Chris for their deserved recognition.
