Curtin Volunteers! recently hosted a Cheers for Volunteers BBQ on Wednesday 15 October, celebrating more than 3,800 volunteer hours contributed by 280 unique students in Semester 2, 2025. The event also marked the end of John Curtin Weekend, which saw more than 150 volunteers travel to 18 regional sites over five weeks in September and October.

Chosen from 40 nominations submitted by external community partners, leaders and volunteers, the Volunteer Leader of the Semester Award was presented to Creative Writing student Deepak Ravichandran and the Volunteer of the Semester Award to International Relations and Marketing student Jasmine Goh.

A huge thank you to Krishan Shah, Caitlin McLeod and Norma Bertram from the CV! team, as well as the students and community partners involved in making this semester’s volunteering opportunities a success.
