Critical Minerals Sector Briefing
Rohan McDougall, Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer Director and Curtin University Executive Director of Commercialisation, joined industry leaders for a panel discussion at the Business News’ Critical Minerals Sector Briefing recently.
The briefing addressed attendees from the Western Australian resources industry on key topics affecting the critical minerals sector including difficulties in financing projects, securing approvals, labour shortages and the need for new technology to make green premium products more marketable.
Fellow panellists included Develop’s Bill Beament, Northern Minerals’ Angela Glover and Tianqi Lithium Australia’s Raj Surendran.
Mr McDougall’s comments on the panel echoed those of the Hon David Michael MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum who delivered the keynote address. The Minister outlined how WA’s abundance of world class natural resources combined with the best of the best in the mining, equipment, technology and services sector (METS), positioned the State favourably in solving these key challenges for the sector.
