Congratulations to Dr Jennifer Currenti from Curtin Medical School and the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, who has been awarded a Cure Cancer Early Career Research Grant of $100,000 for their project “Identifying blood-based biomarkers to predict immunotherapy effectiveness in late-stage liver cancer”.

The research aims to apply findings to real-world, clinical settings by developing a simple blood test, that can be done post-surgery which will enable doctors to give reliable, personalised treatment plans for patients with the most common form of liver cancer – hepatocellular carcinoma.
