Curtin researcher selected to join Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting
Congratulations to Dr Elena Gorenskaia, from the School of Molecular and Life Sciences, who has been selected to represent Curtin at the prestigious Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Germany.
Dr Gorenskaia will join nine early-career researchers from Australia at the 74th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, dedicated to chemistry, where she will engage with more than 30 Nobel Laureates and 630 young scientists from 84 countries. The meeting, held from 29 June to 4 July, fosters global scientific exchange and collaboration.
Her research focuses on developing miniaturised electrochemical sensors using ionic liquids and poly(ionic) liquids to detect water contaminants – an innovation with potential applications in environmental monitoring and water quality assessment.
The Australian delegation’s participation is supported through the Science and Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF) and administered by the Australian Academy of Science (AAS). As part of the experience, Dr Gorenskaia will also take part in the SIEF Research Innovation Tour in Berlin, visiting leading research and development facilities in chemistry.
This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Curtin’s research on a global stage. Well done to Dr Gorenskaia on this achievement. Read more in the AAS media release.
