Two Curtin researchers from the Faculty of Health Sciences have received Raine Medical Research Foundation funding to tackle mental health problems.

Dr Elizabeth (Lizz) Hill from the School of Allied Health was awarded a Raine Priming Grant of $242,854 to investigate the relationship between children’s mental health and language difficulties. As the top applicant in the cohort of six early-career scientists, Dr Hill was also the top ranked applicant in the field of child health.

Professor Gavin Pereira from the School of Population Health was awarded a Clinician Research Fellowship of almost $30,000 to work with Harvard University to investigate how climate-related factors such as extreme heat, bushfire smoke and geogenic dust affect mental health in Western Australia.

Congratulations to Dr Hill and Professor Pereira!
