Congratulations to the following researchers who have been awarded WA Child Research Fund (WACRF) grants:

  • Associate Professor Rishi Kotecha from Curtin Medical School was awarded $599,772 for the project ‘Novel therapeutic strategies to improve the outcome for infants with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia’.
  • Associate Professor Anthony Kicic from the School of Population Health was awarded $599,135 for the project ‘GROW AERIAL Gathering Respiratory epithelial Observations for lung wellness in the AERIAL birth cohort’.
  • Associate Professor Shannon Simpson from the School of Allied Health was awarded $597,349 for the project ‘Developing phenotypes of lung disease after preterm birth to enable a personalised approach to treatment’.

The WACRF was established by the Department of Health and the Channel 7 Telethon Trust in 2012 to fund health and medical research that focuses on the health of children and adolescents in Western Australia.
