Two books by Curtin researchers have taken out top honours at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Professor Dora Marinova and Dr Diana Bogueva from the Curtin University Sustainability Policy (CUSP) Institute co-edited and co-authored several of the chapters of the IGI Global book ‘Environment, Health and Business Opportunities in the New Meat Alternatives Market’, which was named Best of the Best – Meat Alternatives Book in the World for the entire 30-year history of the awards. The book was also co-edited by former Curtin PhD student Dr Talia Raphaely and Dr Kurt Schmidinger from the University of Vienna.

Their book ‘Generation Z and the Future of Food’ also received the prestigious Special Award of the Jury.

Founded in 1995 and with participation from more than 200 countries, the Gourmand Awards are often described as the ‘Oscars of food publishing’ and are the only international competition dedicated to publications on food and drinks cultures.

Congratulations to Professor Marinova and Dr Bogueva on their remarkable achievement.
