Curtin social work students Jenara Lane and Amber Proudfoot are supporting the Cockburn community through a unique social work pilot at Success Library.

Through the program, Jenara and Amber connect with people seeking guidance on a range of complex issues including social isolation, relationship breakdown, housing stress, financial hardship and mental health, helping them access vital local services.

The initiative, a collaboration between Cockburn Libraries, Communicare and Cockburn Integrated Health, offers free and approachable support in a safe, neutral space. The students are based at the library two days a week, breaking down barriers that can prevent people from seeking help through more traditional service channels.

Thank you to Kate Duncanson, Director of Fieldwork, Social Work, for establishing and continuing to support the innovative collaboration, as well as Melissa Kimber and Trena Buncle from the School of Allied Health for their involvement. A special thank you to Clory Carrello, CEO of Cockburn Integrated Health, for his long-standing partnership with Curtin.
