The Curtin Social Work team recently hosted Australia Awards Fellow (DFAT) Professor Larysa Klymanska, from the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Lviv University, Ukraine and Dr Tetiana Bogachenko, Curtin School of Education.

Professor Klymanska’s passion for inclusion in education, particularly for people with disability and war veterans was reinforced by the war in Ukraine. Embedded in the Sociology Program, social work at Lviv University has an important role in supporting community development projects and programs focused on strengthening resiliencies in the Ukraine.

Despite our two very different contexts, the resonances and synergies we shared highlighted the universality of social work knowledges, skills and values.
