On Monday, 11 November 2024, ten of Western Australia’s exceptional researchers, academics and professionals were announced as the recipients of Business Events Perth’s 2024 Aspire Awards.

Dr Chong Wei received the Curtin University Aspire Award, for his part in breakthrough research in marine bioacoustics – focusing on how marine animals produce and hear sounds, as well as how noise affects their auditory systems.

As the 2024 recipient, Dr Wei will attend an international conference of his choice, as an opportunity to share his research and collaborate with likeminded researchers in the field.
