Curtin has received two national honours at the inaugural African Australian Multicultural Celebration in Sydney, hosted by the African Australian Advocacy Centre.

The University received the Stakeholder Award, and Associate Professor David Mickler, Dean Global, Africa and Director of the Centre for Australia-Africa Relations, received the Individual Award. Both awards recognise Curtin’s sector-leading innovation and impact in African community engagement and efforts to strengthen Australia–Africa literacy through the Centre’s work and its strong partnerships with the Curtin African Students Association, the Organisation of African Communities in Western Australia, and other community partners.
