Dr Kathryn Napier, Curtin Institute for Data Science was awarded the Shining Star Award for Design, Analysis & Product Management. This prestigious award recognises women who are bridging the gap between people, business and technology – and highlights Dr Napier’s leadership of the Curtin Open Knowledge Initiative (COKI) technical team.

Dr Mahbuba Afrin, School of Electrical Engineering, Computational and Mathematical Sciences, was named the ‘Rising Star’ in the STEM Academia and Research category. This award acknowledges women who are leading in STEM teaching and research, while also addressing the lack of diversity in the industry.
