Curtin women shine at 2025 WiTWA Tech [+] Awards
Three Curtin staff were named as winners at the Women in Technology WA (WiTWA) 2025 Tech [+] Awards earlier this month. The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of women in the tech industry, particularly in the Western Australian STEM sector, recognising the trailblazers, innovators and leaders who are driving progress and making a significant impact in their fields.
Associate Professor Raffaella Demichelis, from the School of Molecular and Life Sciences, received the STEM Academia and Research Award, which recognises women who excel in STEM teaching and research while championing greater diversity and equity across the tech and STEM industries.
Meg Berry, Program Coordinator for Curtin’s Space Science and Technology Centre, received the Emerging Leader Award, celebrating women who demonstrate personal leadership early in their tech careers or who have recently transitioned into a tech-focused field.
Dr Daphne Lakhiani, Business Development and Commercialisation Manager, IP Commercialisation, received the Sales, Marketing and Business Support Award, which recognises women who play a vital role in enabling the success and smooth operation of technology-led teams and organisations.
A big congratulations to Associate Professor Demichelis, Miss Berry and Dr Lakhiani.
