Curtin’s Smart Campus Platform has received international recognition, winning the 2025 Gartner Eye on Innovation Award for Education – APAC/EMEA (Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Curtin earned the award for developing its Smart Campus Platform – an innovative system that uses modern technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and real-time analytics to enhance operational efficiency, improve sustainability, support data-driven decision-making, and enrich the campus experience for staff and students.

Developed in-house by the Smart Campus team within Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS), the platform enables Curtin stakeholders and researchers to collect, process and visualise real-time IoT data from across campus.

Led by Ahmad Al Moustafa, the Smart Campus team – including Finn Morris, Shane Linley, Marwan Al-Dubai, Arief Yuwarsa, and Yara de Souza Lima – collaborated closely with internal stakeholders to bring this innovative platform to life.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this achievement and for showcasing Curtin’s digital innovation on the global stage.
