Dr Yvonne Breitwieser-Faria from the Curtin Law School has received widespread attention for her recent article published in The Conversation, titled “In a world first, The Hague wants to arrest Taliban leaders over their treatment of women – what happens next?”.

Published on 21 July 2025, the article was the fifth most read on The Conversation that month, placing Dr Breitwieser-Faria among the Top Five authors for July. It was also selected for republication in The Conversation France, reflecting the global relevance and impact of her work.

The Curtin Law School is proud to celebrate this achievement, which led to five radio interviews and significant public engagement. In the article, Dr Breitwieser-Faria explains the significance of the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrants against senior Taliban leaders.
