Each year the Curtin University Early Learning Centre celebrates festivals from around the world.

As we are blessed to have a community that extends from all over the globe, we value the opportunity to rejoice with our families on occasions that are special to them, providing the children with a sense of belonging and supporting our community spirit.

In December 2023, the Early Learning Centre held its Christmas celebration. While in previous years the rooms have hosted individual parties, this year we combined and had a centre-wide event.

The atmosphere was delightful – with the smell of sausages sizzling on the barbeque cooked by chef Shelby Anderson and Director of Operating Engagement Services Dean Macaulay, violins resonating throughout the courtyard with Christmas carols, face painting, glitter art, the animal farm and many other activities to engage in.

Huge kudos to all staff who came up with the creative ideas for children, but in particular, kudos to Rachael Vesey-Scott for her superb organisation.

Families came together to mingle and get to know each other through the common thread of their children.

While the Centre has been on its break since then and the new year has begun, children and parents are still talking about the celebration. Last year’s event will be hard to beat but we look forward to doing it all again in December 2024!
