Two groups of Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) students recently had the opportunity to travel to India to gain an insight into the country’s diverse business landscape. One study tour group travelled south to Chennai while the other group visited Punjab, in the north.

Students immersed themselves in traditional cooking classes, yoga and industry visits in a perfect blend of academic learning and cultural exploration.

These study tours were made possible through the New Colombo Plan (NCP), an initiative of the Australian Government that seeks to strengthen Australia’s ties in the Indo-Pacific region by supporting Australian undergraduates in undertaking study and internships.

The success of these tours is a testament to our commitment to providing students with transformative learning experiences and fostering global perspectives. One of the students who travelled to Chennai, Amy Sandiford, shared her experience:

“I have had the most amazing time at our study tour to India, where we have been able to collaborate with students and gain such useful industry knowledge through the many opportunities provided. We have also been made to feel very welcome at every point of our trip, while enjoying the tourist attractions as well. This trip has been very insightful on a personal level at giving me perspective on pin pointing the career path I wish to pursue going forward.”
