FBL students visit India’s ‘Silicon Valley’
In an immersive three-week journey, 12 Faculty of Business and Law students travelled to Bengaluru, Karnataka, supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade New Colombo Plan.
From touring cutting-edge tech companies and organic silk farms, right through to attending the Bangalore Tech Festival, the students witnessed India’s ‘Silicon Valley’ firsthand and gained profound insights into their economic ecosystem.
The program went beyond corporate visits, taking students to cultural landmarks including Mysore Palace, the hills of Chikkamagaluru, and temples that have stood for a millennium.
While many Australian students initially arrive with preconceptions about India, they depart with a deep appreciation for its people and culture. This authentic exposure has planted seeds for future collaboration – both personally and professionally.
Thank you to the International Affairs Office at Dayananda Sagar University, and Dr Steve McKenna and Yen Hieu from FBL Student Engagement who helped facilitate this trip.
