From campus to country: Regional Changemakers take on the Wheatbelt
A dynamic group of Curtin students recently swapped campus life for country living across six regional towns as part of the Regional Changemakers Program.
The group teamed up with Njaki Njaki Traditional Knowledge Holders and regional leaders in an effort to address key environmental, economic and community well-being issues – gaining firsthand insight into sustainable, community-driven practices.
While most of the group had no prior experience in the Wheatbelt, a whopping 95 per cent reported they would consider a regional career after the immersion experience.
A huge thank you to the Lumen Wheatbelt Regional University Study Hubs, local shires, schools, community groups and the staff who played a part in the success of this wonderful student experience.
