The Curtin Library and the Libraries, Archives, Records and Information Science (LARIS) program recently teamed up to deliver an interactive online workshop for LARIS students, recent graduates and near-completion students.

From Classroom to Career: Using your learning to land your next role explored how participants can translate the skills and knowledge gained through their LARIS studies, practical experiences and previous work into applications for academic library jobs – a key career pathway for many LARIS graduates.

Facilitated by Curtin Library staff Dr Petra Dumbell, John Brown and Sarah Lucas, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for students to see how their LARIS learning connects directly with the expectations of employers in the sector.

The event was well attended and received plenty of positive feedback from attendees. Thank you to Dr Petra Dumbell, John Brown and Sarah Lucas for facilitating and to everyone else involved in the running of the workshop.
