The Curtin Student Guild has taken another step forward in reducing waste on campus, with Cleanaway now servicing the bottle top collection point at the Recycling Hub in the library.

Building on the existing partnership with Cleanaway, this initiative is helping divert hard to recycle items from landfill through simple, everyday actions. The first collection is already off to a strong start, with Phil from Cleanaway collecting the very first load weighing more than 15 kilograms – a great example of what’s possible when the Curtin community all play a part!

For the Student Guild, this project reflects a practical, on-the-ground approach to supporting Curtin’s sustainability goals. It is grassroots work, driven by everyday choices made on campus.

Next time you’re near the library, drop your bottle tops at the Recycling Hub station and be part of the change. Progress doesn’t always start with big systems. Sometimes, it starts with a bottle top!
