Curtin Psychology student Tegan Reder manages a full schedule – juggling studies, gym sessions, work and spending time with friends. Unlike most, she’s also training for the 2026 Commonwealth Games and Paralympics with support from her faithful guide dog, Loui.

Born with the rare eye condition Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA), Tegan made headlines in 2021 as the youngest person in Western Australia to receive a guide dog at age 17.

The five-time Australian swimming record holder recently transitioned from the pool to the velodrome, winning three gold medals for Australia at her debut Oceania Track Cycling Championships in February.

Congratulations to Tegan on this remarkable achievement — we can’t wait to see what she does next.
