Inaugural Regional English Conference success in Broome
Earlier this month, the Faculty of Humanities successfully launched its inaugural Regional English Conference at Broome Senior High School.
Building on Curtin’s annual Year 12 English and Literature Conference, which is hosted by the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry, this event brought together high school students and teachers from across the Kimberley region.
Lecturers delivered insightful presentations on key topics from the Year 12 ATAR English syllabus, sparking lively discussions and engagement among attendees.
As part of a broader initiative to expand outreach in regional areas, this conference underscores our dedication to fostering equal opportunities in higher education.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to the event’s success, which has paved the way for it to become a regular fixture, with the potential to expand to other regional hubs in the future.
A special thank you to Associate Professor Christina Lee, Leigh Brennan, Josie Wang, Dr Ann McGuire, Dr Melissa Russell and the Faculty of Humanities and Curtin AHEAD teams.
