John Curtin Distinguished Professor honoured at WA Mental Health Awards
Congratulations to John Curtin Distinguished Professor Penelope Hasking, who received the Minister’s Award at the 2025 WA Mental Health Awards, held on World Mental Health Day (10 October).
The award recognises individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to mental health in Western Australia, positively impacting the lives of people experiencing mental health challenges, as well as their families and carers.
Professor Hasking was recognised for her leadership in transforming how mental health is understood, researched and supported, particularly among Western Australian tertiary students.
Congratulations also to Amanda Aiyana from the School of Allied Health, who was named a finalist for the Lived Experience Impact & Inspiration Award, recognising her outstanding contribution to mental health in WA through lived experience advocacy.
