NDRI event explores how research shapes policy and practice
The National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) at Curtin recently hosted a special event bringing together two globally-respected leaders in alcohol and other drug (AOD) research, former NDRI Director Professor Steve Allsop and retiring NDARC Director Professor Michael Farrell – both having worked in the field in Australia since the 1980s.
In a conversation facilitated by Professor Bronwyn Myers, Director of Curtin’s enAble Institute, the pair reflected on how AOD research has evolved and discussed the lessons learned in translating evidence into effective policy and practice. The event offered an invaluable opportunity for Curtin staff, students and partners to hear first-hand insights from two pioneers who have shaped the national approach to AOD issues for decades.
Thank you to everyone involved in organising this thoughtful and inspiring event. Watch the Teams recording of the event below.
