National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) researcher Associate Professor Michael Livingston has been elected as the next president of the international Kettil Bruun Society (KBS) for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol.

Michael was named as president-elect at the recent 2025 KBS symposium in Scotland and will shadow the current president before officially taking on the role at the Berlin symposium in 2027. Only the third Australian-based researcher to be elected to the role, he is joined by Melbourne-based NDRI colleague Dr Nic Taylor, who was elected to the KBS Organising Committee.

Congratulations to Michael and Nic on this achievement. Read more in NDRI’s news article.
