The Centre for Transformative Work Design, based at Curtin’s Future of Work Institute, has launched a new Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Landmark Study workshop series aimed at building the capability of WA mining professionals to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of workers across the industry.

Led by Lead Research Fellow Dr Cheryl Yam, the first session brought together representatives from 13 mining companies – including frontline managers, human resources, work health and safety, and wellbeing professionals – who explored how to design good work that supports positive mental health and wellbeing outcomes within their teams and organisations.

Delivered with support from the WA Government’s MARS Program, strong demand for the workshop has already led to a second session being planned to further support professionals across the WA mining industry.

Thank you to Dr Yam and the team for the success of this inaugural workshop. Read more about the MARS Landmark Study.
