A new research project, led by Professor Fiona Doolan-Noble, from the Goldfields University Department of Rural Health, will aim to improve the difficulties faced by people living with cancer in regional, rural and remote Western Australia.

Co-funded by the Future Health Research and Innovation Fund and Cancer Council WA, the project has been awarded a $138,957 Cancer Research Project Grant and will train non-clinical local community members to provide culturally sensitive advice and guidance to patients and families. This research aims to improve early diagnosis and treatment, ensuring better healthcare access for people living outside metropolitan areas.
