The first event of the 2025 Research Rumble series kicked off with Next up in gender research…, an event in collaboration with Curtin’s Gender Research Network (GRN) exploring the latest in gender research and its growing significance. Attendees also had an exclusive first look at a new research dashboard developed by Curtin’s Open Knowledge Initiative (COKI), which will help uncover key trends and insights to support gender research.

A special thank you to event MC Professor Gretchen Benedix, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, and to Dr Karl Huang, COKI Director and Director of the Centre for Culture and Technology; Professor Katie Ellis (Centre for Culture and Technology); and panellists Associate Professor Amy Dobson (School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry), Dr Jin Lee (School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry), Associate Professor Samantha Owen, Director, Gender Equity and Inclusion, and Dr Matty Phillips (Curtin School of Population Health), along with everyone involved in making this event a success.
