Congratulations to Dr William Gilmore who received two early-career researcher awards, recognising his outstanding contributions to research and community impact.
Dr Gilmore received the Faculty of Health Sciences Early Career Researcher of the Year Award 2024, which acknowledges early-career researchers for their research excellence, the impact of their work in the community and their role in building research capacity at Curtin.
The following day, Dr Gilmore was named the enAble Institute’s 2024 Early Career Researcher, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to building research capacity and culture within the enAble Institute, alongside his research excellence and impact. This award highlights his outstanding research track record and collaborative work with community partners.
Dr Gilmore’s research on alcohol-related harms includes the development of the Australian Alcohol-Attributable Harm Visualisation Tool. He has secured $8.2 million in research funding across state, national and international levels, and has co-authored more than 70 research publications, including a first-author article in Nature Reviews Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
