Dr Bernardo Dewey from the Curtin Medical School has been awarded one of four inaugural Early-to-Mid Career Research (EMCR) Fellowships worth a total of $1.6 million through the Government of Western Australia’s FHRI Fund and The Hospital Research Foundation Group.

His project will work with Aboriginal Elders, fathers and healthcare workers to better support Aboriginal men during pregnancy, helping dads feel more included in care and improving outcomes for families. The team will create a culturally safe model of antenatal care that recognises the important role Aboriginal fathers play during this time.

Congratulations to Dr Dewey on this recognition and the meaningful work it will support.
